day 134.

Best Sunday ever.

Today, I spent the late morning/early afternoon here:

On the Washougal. With a waterfall. And so much sunshine. Enjoying the 90 degree weather while reading homework, eating snacks, playing with the dog, and having friend time with one of my besties. It was perfect. And just what I needed pre-move to relax and not stress and be ready. And soon I’m being taken on a picnic dinner. Can’t complain one bit about today.

day 98 and day 99.

I had such a full weekend of homework, good food, and friend time.

Some highlights:

I went skating at open skate on Saturday, which felt amazing after not having been on skates in a few weeks. I treated myself to some new wheels as I’m pretty sure my old ones were the cause of some recurring shin splint issues, and that shit is just no fun. And I caught up with my friend, which is always just so good.

Sunday I spent time in the sunshine, got all of my homework finished on the earlyish side (I’m trying to get off to a good start this term), caught up with my bestie who I hadn’t seen since before Spring break, and made delicious curried veggie rice noodles for my lunches this week. I’m really trying to prioritize cooking on the weekends, and it felt so good to make it happen.

And also, I just have to say it, sunshine makes everything better. Portland is so not disappointing me this Spring. It has just been beautiful out.

day 83.

Today I celebrated officially being on SPRING BREAK with more pho with a dear friend, sexy underwear shopping, prepping for an epic baking day tomorrow (my fermentation club is making sourdough bread!!), witnessing a beautiful night sky with the thinnest sliver of moon, and going to bed somewhat early again. I clearly know how to get WILD with the self-care.

I’m so looking forward to the next week of no work or school, the chance to check off so many to-do’s, and going to San Francisco for pervcation.

And sunshine! Everything is better when there is sunshine.

day 68.

A day off work, full of sunshine.

Today I went for a walk with Wyatt and the tiny dog. A woman driving by us slowed down, and exclaimed out her open window, “SHORT PANTS!!” while clapping her hands with the biggest smile on her face in response to Wyatt’s outfit choice and the glorious weather. It was that good.

Drank tea and attempted homework in the teahouse garden. Mostly just soaked up the sun.

Put spontaneous trip plans into action. I CANNOT WAIT FOR SPRING BREAK!!!

Ate delicious homemade pizza and baked more hamantaschen.

Pretty much perfect. Oh, and the full moon!!
